Basically, say you have a profile at Last.fm and store pictures at Flickr. With Pivip, you'd set up your own website that displays e.g. the songs you listened to most that week and the latest pictures you posted at Flickr. Perhaps you also have a (few) weblog(s) - you can fetch the latest posts and display those too.
Yep, I definitely need to find a concise way of describing that. Hope it's clear now.
